A Fresno woman bought a Mega Millions ticket and has claimed her $ $4,234,962 million dollar jackpot. Sara Bailey bought her ticket at Vons on Cedar Avenue and hit five correct numbers.
She was very close to the $1B jackpot but missed it by just one number. She said her heart dropped when she realized she was so close but did not hit the big jackpot. She thought she was probably still a big winner with 5 numbers but she did not expect it to be more than $4 million dollars.
Bailey plans to help her parents with their retirement with the money and would also like to donate to charities. She is also hoping to take a nice vacation.

Mega Millions® began on August 31, 1996 as the Big Game. The first drawing took place on September 6, 1996, with six states participating: Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan and Virginia.
On March 30, 2012, Mega Millions made history with the world’s largest prize in any jackpot game to that date: $656 million. The jackpot was split three ways, by winning tickets in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland. That lottery industry record stood for almost four years until it was eclipsed by a $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot in January 2016; Mega Millions joined the billion-dollar club on October 23, 2018.
