Rene Nezhoda who has starred on the popular reality show, ‘Storage Wars’, for almost a decade. The show follows experts who participate in storage locker auctions with the hopes of finding valuable items that have been left behind in the units.
Nezhoda showed that his profit-hunting skills are not only helpful in storage unit bidding wars but also in Poker competitions, when he came out on top in a big poker tournament held in Punta del Este, Uruguay. He defeated a group of 340 total entries in the Americas Cardroom Enjoy Poker Tour Punta del Este $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event, banking $70,455 and earning his first poker tournament title.
“I’m exhausted. All eight players were very good. Actually, the last 24 players were all very good. It was hard,” said Nezhoda in an interview with ACR after winning the tournament. “This goes to my Americas Cardroom family, to the Bargain Hunters family, to the Storage Wars family, my lovely wife, everybody that has been supporting me, and most of all my daughter back at home.”
This was the largest score Nezhoda has scored so far in his Poker Journey. Before this win, his biggest profit was the $12,745 he earned for a 13th-place win in a $1,500 super turbo bounty event at the 2019 World Series of Poker.
This was not an out of pocket win for Nezhoda, he had placed 11th in a $3,300 buy-in event during the same series for $9,500 a few days prior to the tournament. He now has $106,000 in lifetime live profits under his belt.
